Cane Glass Collar

CANE GLASS COLLAR

You Will need:

1 bag cane glass beads
1 bag 6mm solid rings
1 bag figure of eight connectors
2 x 3 into 1 connector
2 bags of eye pins
1 Toggle Clasp

Tools:
You will need to use round nose pliers and wire cutters throughout. A pair of pliers may also be useful.

The first step to making this necklace is to make loops either side of your cane glass beads using your eye pins as follows:

Insert your eye pin into your chosen bead, and holding the pin up against the bottom of your bead cutt off your pic to about 1cm from the top of your bead. (1)

Holding your shortened pin with your round nose pliers, bend your pin back across your bead at a right angle. (2)

Hold your pin tightly at the end, roll your wrist forming a loop around the plier. (3) You can make bigger of smaller loops depending on where you roll your pin. If you are repeatedly making these loops you will soon get used to where to cut them to get the same size loop each time. TIP : Use one of your fingers as a guide.

(the above illustration shows both sorts of pins)

These sections are then joined together using the figure of 8 connectors. Open one end of your connector and insert the looped end into it, close with your round nose pliers/flat nose pliers, into the other end insert a solid ring.

Complete further sections together using another figure of 8 connector etc until you have your first length which will have 10 cane glass beads included.

Connect both ends to your 3 into 1 connector. You need to make sure that each end is placed into the right hole on the connector. Now make your 2nd length of chain, this should have at least 11 cane glass beads included, more if you want a greater space.

The 3rd and final section should have at leas 12 sections, or again more if you want a longer drop.

Once you have made your 3 lengths and attached them to your connector you will need to make a matching length of chain to take round your neck. This is done in identically the same way. Start with a figure of 8 connector and make a chain with as many cane glass beads that you need to achieve your desired length. Remember that you will need to add a clasp when allowing for length.

Into the last figure of 8 connector attach the bar of the toggle clasp, and into the opposite end your ring.
