This simple but effective project is suitable for beginners and will give you plenty of practice at cutting and turning your head pins!
To make loops on your head you need to use ROUND NOSE PLIERS. You will also need a pair of WIRE CUTTERS.
Insert your pin into your chosen bead, and holding the pin up against the bottom of your bead cut off your pin to about 1cm from the top of your bead. (1)
Holding your now shortened pin with your round nose pliers, bend your pin back across your bead at a right angle. (2)
Hold your pin tightly at the end, roll your wrist forming a loop around the plier. (3) You can make bigger or smaller loops depending on where you roll your pin. If you are repeatedly making these loops you will soon get used to where to cut them to get the same size loop each time. I like to use one of my fingers as a guide.
You need to make at least 44 looped beads for an average adult bracelet.
To make the bracelet, string 1 4mm spacer or 1 size 6 seed bead followed by one of your looped beads, repeat this until you have the required length.
Tie your elastic into a flat knot, (reef) left over right, right over left and then knot again on top of this. Seal your knot with clear nail varnish, let it dry, then cut off.
